MIller Systems - Plant Growth Monitor

Along with the seed counter we made a plant growth monitor for the same customer (picture below). We were asked to give a measurement for the size of the plant so they could estimate the growth rate. We achieved this by placing the plant on a turntable and taking 360 TV pictures of the plant as it turned through 360 degrees. The lighting was adjusted so that only a sillouette could be seen and we measured the total black to white ratio on a computer:
