Lost for words - Poem by R W Miller

Unclothed with words, and therefore undefined, Our thoughts run naked through the realm of mind. But dress they must when on the stage they play, With fashionable words, in colours of the day, While thoughts alone can shade to Nth degree, Constraining words support disparity. Not all of us are blessed with that choice skill, which facilitates selection by the will, The actor thought, which represents at best, The general theme assumed by all the rest, And then to clothe the thought in words that suit, From meagre stocks of clothes, or else be mute.
